History Comes Alive at Landrum’s Homestead & Village

Mark your calendars for a one-of-a-kind experience at History Alive 2025 at Landrum’s Homestead & Village in Laurel, Mississippi. This is your chance to walk through the past and enjoy a full day of family fun, live demonstrations, and Southern charm.

Here’s just a glimpse of what you can expect:

  • Live demonstrations of the gristmill, steam engine, antique engine, and fresh biscuit making (with samples!)

  • Blacksmiths and wood carvers showcasing their skills

  • An authentic Soldiers Encampment featuring a field doctor, historic camp setup, and fascinating artifacts

  • Broom making and old-fashioned games for all ages

  • Live music by Southern Strings Dulcimers

  • Mississippi Department of Wildlife & Fisheries with hands-on exhibits featuring pelts, skulls, study skins, and more

  • Pony rides and face painting for children

  • Special guest appearance by Bobby Hathorn

  • Homemade ice cream, funnel cake fries, beignets, corn dogs, hamburgers, and other classic treats
