History Alive at Landrum’s Homestead

Step back in time at Landrum’s Homestead & Village during the upcoming History Alive event on Saturday, April 25 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
This family-friendly experience invites guests to enjoy a day of history, hearth, and homemade goodness just like it used to be, featuring live demonstrations such as cornmeal grinding, blacksmithing, and traditional cooking.
Visitors can explore a soldiers’ encampment, enjoy homemade treats like ice cream, sweet tea, and lemonade, and take part in activities including quilting, storytelling, wood carving, and a petting farm. Located in Laurel, Mississippi, the homestead offers an immersive look into 19th-century life, making it a perfect outing for families looking to create lasting memories while connecting with the past.

Patriotic Saturday
July 4 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Celebrate Independence Day the old-fashioned way at Landrum’s Homestead.
Bring your picnic basket, gather the family, and enjoy a day beneath waving
American flags and shady trees. Wagon rides through the countryside, gem
mining, homemade ice cream, and fresh lemonade make for a wholesome
red-white-and-blue celebration.

Ole Tyme Fall Festival
October 17 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
One of Landrum’s most beloved traditions. Enjoy pony rides, blacksmith and
wood carving demonstrations, old-fashioned games, dulcimer music, clogging,
cake walks, wagon rides, gem mining, and a fun scavenger hunt. Guests can
also enjoy funnel cakes, homemade ice cream, and a variety of festival foods.

Sugar Cane Syrup Making
November 14 | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Watch syrup made the old-fashioned way using a mule-powered cane mill and
antique syrup pan, just like in the early days. Guests can enjoy free biscuits
with fresh syrup samples along with festival favorites like corn dogs,
lemonade, and homemade ice cream.

43rd Annual Christmas at Landrum’s Homestead

Bring the whole family for one of the most magical events of the season.
Enjoy photos with Santa, live entertainment, Civil War reenactments,
dulcimers, clogging, wagon rides, pony rides, gem mining, and a gift shop
filled with unique treasures. Stroll through acres of dazzling holiday lights
while watching skilled artisans like blacksmiths and wood carvers.

Christmas Lights at Landrum’s Homestead

Step back in time and relive the glow of an old-fashioned Christmas. Wander
beneath thousands of twinkling lights on a festive walking tour featuring
photos with Santa, wagon rides, gem mining, marshmallows roasting by the
fire, warm funnel cakes, and hot chocolate.
